Apurwa is a fourth year majoring in Bioengineering: Bioinformatics at UCSD. For this upcoming year, he will be serving as co-Director along with Reena. In his free time, he’s an avid fan of sports. Basketball, Football, Cricket. You name it, he loves it. When he’s not glued to the screen watching his Pittsburgh Steelers playing, you’ll find him binge watching some TV show on Netflix. He also loves napping and exploring San Diego. He’s excited to work with his fellow board members and can’t wait to make Tamasha one of the best HFD competitions in the country!
Samhith Palakodeti, VP Internal
Samhita is 3rd year majoring in Human Biology at UCSD. She was born and raised in San Diego, and absolutely loves it here! She is the VP Internal for TamashaSD and is also Social Chair for SangamSD and Media Manager for MedICamp. Her favorite color is periwinkle and her spirit animal is probably a cat, even though she's allergic to them. Samhita joined the TamashaSD board because of her passion for dance and her love for organizing events. Her favorite pastime is eating acai bowls, but when she's not doing that, you can catch her thinking about eating an acai bowl (well, either that or eating ice cream depending on how healthy she's trying to be that day).
Yasmin Javed, VP External
Born and raised in San Diego, Yasmin is a third year majoring in Biology with a minor in Physics at San Diego State. Along with her aspirations to become an optometrist, Yasmin hopes to positively impact her community; primarily, through her volunteer work in underprivileged vision care clinics. She is also a Pre-Health Medical Professions Peer Mentor as well as a member of FOCUS (Pre-Opto) Club. Yasmin enjoys horror/psychological thrilling movies, all flavors of ice cream, and baking (mostly burning). Yasmin is looking forward to a great year and an unforgettable competition!

Nimisha Nandankar, Hospitality
Nimisha is a graduating third year, majoring in Human Biology from Muir College. Representing the east coast, she's from New Jersey, so she still doesn't know how to pump her own gas for her car (PSA they fill it for you in Jersey!). Nimisha joined UCSD Zor her freshman year and her teammates very quickly became some of her closest friends. On top of dancing, she spends her time helping out in neuroscience research, volunteering as a Student Health Advocate, and traveling abroad with Project RISHI. But the real fun comes in during her downtime, when she plays guitar, figure skates, or surfs the San Diego waves!

When he's not stuck in the library, you can find Sahil playing basketball, eating (too much for his own good), and listening to music.
Saveree Joshipura, Exhibition Chair
Saveree is a second year at UC San Diego studying Data Science and Engineering with a concentration in Music. She was born in North Carolina, but has lived in the Bay Area for her whole life. UC San Diego was her dream school because she loves to visit different beaches of the world and travel. Her mom enrolled her in Kathak classes at the age of 5, but she did not enjoy dancing as much as her passion for singing. However, she appreciates watching Bollywood dance and has attended several dance shows in the past 3 years. Saveree enjoyed being behind the scenes last year for Tamasha 2017 and looks forward to doing it again this year.

She aspires to become a doctor and has tried to help her community through volunteer work at hospitals, as well as participating in pre-health organizations such as Medlife and AED. Sweta loves hiking, traveling, binge watching the same TV shows, and THAI FOOD!! She joined Tamasha because of her love for dance and to stay connected to her Indian roots. She can’t wait to put her leadership experience to use as Outreach Coordinator and help plan an unforgettable competition!
Tamilka De, Fundraising Chair
Hey everyone! I'm a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering major with an Art minor at UCSD. Things I love to do: draw/paint, run, go to museums & coffee shops, eat good food, explore the city, & Netflix. Things I hate to do: Netflix (when procrastinating). A random fun fact is that I can spell the longest word in the English language. I'm looking forward to learning about TamashaSD and New Light throughout this year!

She has been passionate about dance all her life and even joined the bollywood dance team on campus, UCSD Zor during her freshman year. Aasna is part of Project Nica, Medlife, and HMP3 on campus, a few of the many premed clubs on campus. After being part of a close knit Indian circuit in the bay and last year on Tamasha, she can't wait to bring forth more ideas and unique events to gather the community through Tamasha SD this year! Experience the madness as she works with the rest of the board to make year 3 even better!
Vaish Sridharan, Head Liaison
Vaish is a third-year Bioengineering student at UCSD. She hopes to one day work at a biotechnology company with a specialization in prosthetics design. All her friends know her as the girl with color codes everything and has a meticulous bullet journal. Vaish is also captain of UCSD Raas Ruckus, a nationally ranked competitive raas-garba team.
