Born and raised in San Diego, Yasmin is a fourth year majoring in Biology with a minor in Physics at San Diego State. Along with her aspirations to become an optometrist, Yasmin hopes to positively impact her community; primarily, through her volunteer work in underprivileged vision care clinics. She is also a Pre-Health Professions Peer Mentor as well as a member of FOCUS (Pre-Optometry club). Yasmin enjoys horror/psychological thrilling movies, all flavors of ice cream, and scrolling through Twitter. She has also served on board as VP External as well as Outreach Chair. Yasmin is looking forward to a great year of two unforgettable competitions!
Samhita Palakodeti, President
Samhita is a 4th year majoring in Human Biology at UCSD. She was born and raised in San Diego, and absolutely loves it here! She was the VP Internal for TamashaSD last year and is also Social Chair for SangamSD and Media Manager for MedICamp. Her favorite color is periwinkle and her spirit animal is probably a cat, even though she's allergic to them. Samhita joined the TamashaSD board because of her passion for dance and her love for organizing events. Her favorite pastime is eating acai bowls, but when she's not doing that, you can catch her thinking about eating an acai bowl (well, either that or eating ice cream depending on how healthy she's trying to be that day).
Mitthi Jain, VP Internal
Mitthi is a third year Econ-Math major at UCSD. She was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand, but can’t speak any Thai :( In addition to being VP Internal, Mitthi also works as an equity analyst for Triton Funds LLC, and has been on UCSD’s premier Bollywood Fusion and Bhangra dance teams: Zor and DRP. Mitthi’s hobbies include designing rooms on RoomSketcher, buying everything at Trader Joes (which she insists on calling TJoes), and experiencing the madness.
Aasna Shah, VP External
Aasna is a fourth year double majoring in Human Biology and Clinical Psychology at UCSD. She is currently on the premed track, aspiring to be a physician in the near future. She is a proud California girl, living in the Bay Area all her life. Aasna loves working with kids and had spent much of her time volunteering and taking care of the youth and elderly in the past. She has been passionate about dance all her life and even joined the bollywood dance team on campus, UCSD Zor during her freshman year. Aasna is a part of different premed clubs on campus and works at the VA at a neuropsychiatry lab studying PTSD this year. After being part of a close knit Indian circuit in the bay and the past three years through Zor and Tamasha, she can't wait to bring forth more ideas and unique events to gather the community in SD this year! Zafrin Dhali, Treasurer
Zafrin is a 4th year Biotechnology major, Cognitive Science minor student at UCSD. She was a member of UCSD Zor her sophomore year.The only thing she loves more than dancing is food and good company. She's always on the move-- she has a hard time standing still. She loves to read, write, and draw in her free time. She's super excited to bring you the best Tamasha yet!!!
Sweta Desai, Marketing Chair
Sweta is a third year UCSD student majoring in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and minoring in Psychology, with a graduate goal of pursuing medicine. She was born in LA (Simi Valley, but no one knows where that is so let’s stick with LA) and has lived there her entire life. She aspires to become a doctor and has tried to help her community through volunteer work at hospitals, as well as participating in pre-health organizations such as Medlife and AED. Sweta loves hiking, traveling, binge watching the same TV shows, and THAI FOOD!! She joined Tamasha because of her love for dance and to stay connected to her Indian roots. She can’t wait to put her leadership experience to use as Marketing Chair and help plan an unforgettable competition!

A SoCal native, Reet is a 2nd year International Studies - International Business major. Reet is also a Culture Show chair for SangamSD, involved in Greek life, and a member of Women in Business. She loves to travel and enjoys trying out new ice cream shops around SD. Reet loved getting involved with the Indian community through Tamasha last year, and this year, as Hospitality chair, she’s excited to welcome teams to San Diego for an amazing comp!
Ramie Kotadia, Hospitality Chair
Ramie is a 4th year majoring in Molecular Biology at UC San Diego. She was born and raised in the Bay Area but loves living steps away from the beach now. Besides being involved with TamashaSD since its inaugural year, she is also involved with SangamSD. In her free time, Ramie enjoys taking naps, getting lost in the YouTube spiral, and experimenting with makeup. With 14 years of Bollywood dance experience under her belt, she is excited to help put on a great competition that everyone can enjoy. She can't wait to see all the teams stay classy here in sunny San Diego!

This is Susmeetha Sanugula and she is excited to be your 2018-2019 co-Social Venue Chair! She is a third-year Finance major at SDSU and a local San Diegan so hit her up if you ever want to know the best food spots in town! In her free time, she likes to sing, do professional henna, look at memes, and obsess over Maluma. This is her first year on the board, but she is confident this will be an unforgettable Tamasha!
Christal Philip, Social Venue Chair
Christal is a third year majoring in Kinesiology at San Diego State University. Raised in the Bay Area, she chose San Diego for the warm beaches and authentic Mexican tacos. If she's not eating food, she's cooking food! She loves to experiment with different dishes of various cultures. Speaking of experimenting, she's also been a makeup fanatic for years! If she isn't being creative, you can catch her binge-watching any tv show, her current fave is Brooklyn 99. Christal joined the Tamasha Board to keep in touch with her roots and is thrilled for the upcoming year!

Mrinal is a 3rd year Mathematics and Computer Science major with a minor in Physics at UCSD. Having never danced before college, Mrinal joined UCSD Raas Ruckus and danced the last two years. This year he is looking forward to being involved in the Raas and HFD circuits from the other side of competitions. When not doing homework, Mrinal can be found trying to drag his friends to hip hop classes around San Diego. He is super excited to be part of two great comps in two amazing circuits!
Aishwarya Kudrimoti, Head Liaison
A San Diego native, Aishwarya is a 3rd year Economics major, Business minor at UCSD. Previously a Tamasha intern, she will now serve as Head Liaison, with her amazing co-chair, Mrinal! She danced with UCSD Raas Ruckus her first year, and later joined UCSD’s bhangra team, Da Real Punjabiz. She is also a trained Kathak dancer. Aishwarya loves discovering new music and binge watching TV shows like Parks and Rec, Criminal Minds, and Grey’s Anatomy. In her free time, she’ll still be doing something-probably cleaning the kitchen obsessively. Aishwarya enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes, as well as baking. She can’t wait to meet the Tamasha teams and make them feel at home in sunny San Diego!

Kruti is a second-year majoring in Chemistry/Biochemistry and minoring in Global Health. She hopes to pursue a career in the healthcare field. She will be serving as a Fundraising Chair this year. She likes to hike, cook, and binge watch Netflix. Her current obsessions are Designated Survivor and Chicago Med. She’s also a fan of all good food and a coffee connoisseur. When she’s not studying or watching TV, she loves thrifting, napping, and brunching with friends. She's so excited to be on the board this year and can’t wait for the two competitions (double the fun)!!

Diti is a second year biochemistry and cell biology major, aspiring towards becoming a physician. She was born in Charlotte, NC, but has lived in Nairobi, Kenya her entire life. She hopes to positively impact underprivileged communities though her volunteer work in Healing Hearts across borders, tutoring refugee children and volunteering at Hospitals. Diti is a member of MedLife and Tritons for UNICEF. During her free time, Diti loves to explore San Diego (or La Jolla), discover new food places and playing with dogs. She enjoys living close to beach, and is fond of the beautiful San Diego Sunsets. She joined Tamasha because of her passion to dance, and is excited for this years competitions.

Milan Das, Media Chair
As one of the founding members of TamashaSD, Milan has a vested interest in making sure that each and every Tamasha is bigger and better. She is a recent graduate from UCSD with an Environmental Engineering degree. She was a dancer and captain on UCSD ZOR and was a dance on UCSD's Raas/Garba Team UCSD Raas Ruckus. Milan has competed at 17 different comps in both the Fusion circuit and Raas/Garba circuit. She is also currently on the national board for Legends 2018 and for Raas All-Stars 2018. #stayclassy
